The Criminal Justice department in JCC's Carnahan Center includes multiple spaces and tools for hands-on training:
- Large classroom used for fake crime scenes, command centers, and places for coordinated response
- Staged crime scene where students apply their forensic skills, processing evidence and analyzing details
- Leica CS10, a cutting-edge survey tool that captures up to one million measurement points per second, bringing unmatched precision to crime scene investigations
- Model town to learn effective command coordination in various scenarios, such as hazardous material responses to hostage situations
- Fingerprint development room to learn standard and advanced fingerprint identification techniques, including powder dusting, lifting, and chemical methods like Ninhydrin processing and cyanoacrylate fuming
- Fingerprint processing room to learn proper techniques for securing known prints using both traditional ink methods and modern LiveScan technology
- Real jail cell used for immersive corrections training, where students practice cell extraction techniques and investigate crime scenes
